Malis Goldreserven und Chinas frenetische Einkaufstour des glänzenden Zeugs dürften wahrscheinlich die Vereinigten Staaten dazu motiviert haben, ihr AFRICOM-Projekt durch den Bau einer Drohnen-Basis im benachbarten Niger zu verstärken. Aber Schattenkriege in Afrika sind nur ein Nebenschauplatz, der wahre Deal ist eine Schwerpunktverlagerung gen Asien, um das exorbitante Pentagon-Budget aufrechtzuhalten.
